BFA’s or Binding Financial Agreements or Pre-Nups as they are called in the magazines have become an established fact of Australian relationships.

Most people now entering a relationship consider whether or not to quarantine their pre relationship assets by entering into a BFA with their partner. This article by Will Hamilton is one of the best I have seen from a practical point of view. Not only does it provide an outline of the nature of these beasts, and there are several of them it gives a few helpful hints about relationships as well. BFA’s can apply to people who are legally married or are people who are simply in a relationship. Even if the relationship is of long standing the parties can still decide to enter into a BFA. Anyone thinking of protecting their assets should read this.
